Westman Communications Group (Westman) has been shortlisted for the Tuned-In Canada contest category, “Best Photo: Connecting Canadians”. The winners for each category are determined by nationwide voting, which opens Monday, May 6, 2019 and closes May 17, 2019.

Westman is up against three other nominees in the category of Best photo: connecting Canadians. If they are the winner, the $1,000 prize for their category will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brandon, which is the local charity of their choice.

The photo that Westman is shortlisted for is one of two Brandon Wheat Kings players holding up a free Wi-Fi sign in front of the Keystone Centre. The significance behind this picture, is that it is important to Westman to keep people connected. Westman gives people the ability to share memories while enjoying events within the 540,000 square foot multi-purpose facility. That is why Westman partnered with the Keystone Centre to put Free Wi-Fi throughout the centre for everyone to enjoy! Westman also offers free public Wi-Fi to over 10 other community Centres and Arenas in areas we serve.

"Westman recently entered a partnership with the Keystone centre to offer free wi-fi throughout their complex and what this picture really represents is that partnership and what it does for the building and the many people who attend events in the building.” said Westman Communications Group Marketing Manager, Courtney Baxter. “The Wheat Kings are a staple in the Keystone Centre with Westoba Place being their home, so having a couple representatives from the team holding that sign really represents the partnership the team has with the building and Westman Communications Group.”

Nationwide online voting is open at www.tunedincanada.com/vote/. Voting takes place using SMS authentication and voters can cast one vote per day/deploy all votes until May 17th at midnight (Atlantic Daylight Time). Offline voting forms are also available for individuals who do not wish to participate online. Those who are interested in this option should contact Brandi Crowe at crowebr@westmancom.com.

“The CCSA has been running the awards since 2014, and has provided more than $40,000 to winning companies, who in turn have donated their winnings back to the communities where they live and work,” said Jay Thomson, CEO of CCSA. “We hope the citizens of Brandon and surrounding areas will embrace the community spirit at the heart of this friendly competition and bring out the vote to support their local nominee, Westman Communications Group.” The winners will be announced on May 29th .
