Westman Communications Group (Westman) has expanded its services to 44 communities throughout Manitoba with the recent addition of Treherne. Residents and businesses in Treherne are now connected to fibre and have access to Westman’s most advanced High Speed Internet, Digital HD TV and Phone services.
“As a local, Manitoba cooperative, we are proud to be able to connect underserved communities to advanced communication options, including High Speed Internet,” said Dave Baxter, President and Chief Executive Officer of Westman.
At the end of 2019, Westman started a new journey to fibre-connect underserved communities, who otherwise may not have access to essential Internet speeds. Inglis, Manitoba, marked the first new community in over 15 years to have access to Westman’s services. Since Inglis, Westman has connected nine additional communities - Minto, Rapid City, Oak River, Haywood, St. Claude, Elm Creek, Wawanesa, Rathwell, Treherne.
“Our services have been well-received, giving more choices for entertainment and savings. With more wireless-enabled devices in homes competing for bandwidth, our no data cap plans are a great choice for members. As well, having access to faster download speeds creates opportunities for businesses and other entrepreneurs,” said Baxter.
