Troubleshoot Your Wi-Fi

Having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi? Don’t worry—these quick steps can help you get back online:

  1. Ensure Wi-Fi is Turned On
It might sound simple, but check if Wi-Fi is enabled on your device. Many devices have a Wi-Fi toggle in their settings or on the taskbar.

  2. Check Other Devices
Test the network with another device, like a phone or laptop. If they connect, the issue might be specific to your device. If they don’t, it could be the Wi-Fi network.

  3. Restart Your Router
Turn your router off, wait 10-15 seconds, and turn it back on. Sometimes, a quick reboot is all it takes to fix connectivity issues.

  4. Move Closer to the Router
If you’re having Wi-Fi issues, move closer to the router and check if the signal improves. If it does, this is most likely a range issue rather than a typical troubleshooting problem. Solving range issues may require additional equipment, such as a Wi-Fi extender, or adjusting your router's placement.

If these steps don’t work, you may need to contact our help desk for further assistance.

Information to gather before calling the Helpdesk

  1. Accurate and isolated speed tests

These speed tests should be done on multiple devices multiple times. We recommend 3 tests per device on a minimum of 2 devices for 1 accurate test.

  1. Time and Date

Having an accurate record of when this issue is taking place allows techs to more efficiently troubleshoot the problem, thus saving you time on the phone.

  1. Affected Devices

This goes hand in hand with the time. An accurate list of devices affected and at what time will ensure a faster resolution.
