Dropped Calls on Your Home Phone
If you're experiencing dropped calls on your home phone, follow these troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue and get your phone service working properly again.
1. Ensure the Handset Battery is Charged
If you're using a cordless phone, make sure the handset is fully charged. A low battery can cause poor call quality or dropped calls.
-
Place the handset on its base station and allow it to charge for a while.
-
If the phone still isn’t holding a charge, try replacing the battery if it’s removable.
2. Test Another Phone
To determine if the issue is with your phone or the phone line, test another phone in the same outlet.
-
If the second phone works without issues, your original handset may be faulty.
-
If the problem persists with the second phone, the issue may be related to the phone line or service itself.
3. Ensure No Keypads Are Pressed During the Call
Sometimes, accidental button presses during a call can cause the call to drop or interfere with the connection.
-
Ensure that no keys on the phone’s keypad are being pressed while you’re on a call.
-
Check the phone’s display to ensure there are no accidental activations, such as the mute button or call-holding functions being engaged.
