Westman Communications Group (Westman) held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium. At the AGM, Westman announced the elected 2019 Board of Directors. The Board is made up of 11 members of the community and this year, three new spots needed to be filled. The trio of new members joining the 2019 Board of Directors includes Jason Roblin (Brandon), Terry Fehr (Gladstone), and Barrie Brooking (Minnedosa).

On November 1, 2018, Westman Communications Group rebranded The Movie Network (TMN) / HBO to Crave + Movies + HBO.
This rebrand will allow customers to benefit from four new high definition (HD) Crave channels along with HBO East and West. These channels will continue to be the place to get blockbuster Hollywood movies and exclusive access to HBO and Showtime series.

In early September, Westman Communications Group’s (Westman) $3 Million investment in network and infrastructure capabilities enabled the increasing of speeds for all their Internet packages, with some speeds being increased by up to 50% faster. Building on the September speed increases, and as part of an ongoing commitment to provide the fastest Residential Internet speeds in Manitoba is the launch of Westman’s Infinite Gigabit service. This service offers download speeds up to 950 Mbps and upload speeds up to 200 Mbps and will be available in all Fibre to the Home (FTTH) residential areas in Brandon.

Westman Communications Group has just completed the second phase of a fibre network upgrade for Dauphin. The second phase involved doing node splits. A node split essentially doubles the amount of bandwidth available for each house. The additional bandwidth available to each home in Dauphin will accommodate faster Internet speeds, the increase of Internet traffic and the expansion of high definition video offerings.

Westman Communications Group is pleased to announce that Virden residents and businesses will have enhanced video services and higher Internet speed options starting Tuesday, November 25th. These enhancements and new options are the result of a of an upgraded fibre connection to Virden from Brandon. The upgraded fibre connection is part of a $5 Million digital upgrade project that Westman has undertaken over the past three years to upgrade and add communication services in 10 communities in Western Manitoba, with Virden being the tenth.

Westman is pleased to announce that we will be offering Jets TV. TSN will officially launch its newly expanded package of five TSN feeds across Canada on Monday, August 25th, 2014. The new package of feeds, TSN1, TSN2, TSN3, TSN4, and TSN5, will deliver a line-up of expanded programming as well as the ability to schedule key programming to serve multiple time zones. TSN3, the new home for live coverage of regional NHL Winnipeg Jets hockey games, will be the primary feed for Manitoba.
